Korean Grammar in Use, Intermediat, Jin-young M., Jean-myung A., 2016.

   As the second volume in the Korean Grammar in Use series, this book is intended to serve as a reference text for students who have studied intermediate-level Korean at universities or language institutes in Korea or who have previously studied Korean and want to clarify what they have learned. The grammar and examples of usage were designed with the proficiency level of intermediate Korean learners in mind, and we have included English translations as a means of providing additional clarification of meaning. Moreover, to further help both Korean learners and teachers, we have made an effort to include grammar points that have not only been overlooked by previous textbooks but have also been shown to be difficult to grasp and are often misused by learners. In addition, to compensate for one of the biggest shortcomings of traditional language textbooks, namely the fact that only the meaning of grammar points and not the actual situations in which they are used are discussed, we have supplemented the grammar explanations with dialogue-making activities based on substitution drills. Finally, in an effort to help students prepare for the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK), grammar patterns that students need to know for the TOPIK have been included.




Expressing Habits and Attitudes.
In this chapter, we study expressions to indicate a person’s habitual actions or attitudes toward situations. Specifically, we focus on expressions used to indicate actions that are repeated often, similar to a habit, and expressions used to indicate the speaker's attitude or stance toward another person. These are intermediate expressions that did not appear in the beginning level, and learning them well here will help you to speak even more natural-sounding Korean.
