The Adjective.
Adjectives describe nouns. They have the same form in both the singular and the plural. They normally go before nouns. They also go alone (without nouns) after the verbs appear, be, become, feel, seem, smell, taste, look, get etc.

The egg smells awful. The soup tastes delicious.
Adjectives can be common, derived and compound.

Some common adjectives (good, red, sad) do not have endings but many derived adjectives formed from nouns and verbs have a particular ending (or suffix).
