   Учебное пособие из серии книг для чтения "Read up!” (8-й класс) предназначено для развития умений и навыков чтения в средних классах общеобразовательных учреждений. Пособие является необходимым компонентом любого основного курса обучения, в том числе УМК для 8-го класса “Enjoy English”, "Happy English.ru”, “New Millennium English”. Оно рассчитано примерно на 35 часов учебного времени (один урок в неделю).

The most popular museums in St Petersburg.
Visiting an open-air military camp, watching monkeys putting their babies to bed and reading your own poetry are some of the many things people can do at 20 St Petersburg’s museums when they open their doors later than usual for Museum Night. A ticket for admission to all 20 places is a bargain at 150 rubles. Free shuttle buses on three routes circulate between the museums. Visitors to the Dostoyevsky Museum, the Alexander Blok Museum, the Museum of the Political History of Russia, the Zoo, the Krasin Icebreaker and other places can enjoy concerts, walking tours, boat trips, and historical battle reconstructions as late as 1 a.m.

The annual St Petersburg night is part of a larger international event that involves around 2,000 museums and galleries in 40 countries. Museum Night began in Berlin in 1997 to bring more people into museums and galleries. They wanted to attract younger people who were not regular museum-goers.

St Petersburg’s museums offer a wide variety of programmes.
For example, the Artillery Museum invites visitors to its outdoor space. The central stage, which shows military camps from different eras, changes hourly and shows Roman warriors, medieval knights, French Napoleonic hussars and the Soviet Red Army from World War II.

If you like animals, the city’s zoo runs a series of evening activities with specialists on duty. Leading the horses to the stables, feeding crocodiles and polar bears, and listening to night birds are some of the tours’ highlights. Each tour, which lasts around 40 minutes, is different. It is not a regular excursion but rather an opportunity to observe the zoo staff at work.
